Free AI and File Tools That Run in Your Browser
Every tool on this site, grouped by what it does — and a straight answer about which ones use AI and which ones only say they do.
"AI tool" has stopped meaning anything in particular. Plenty of things sold as AI are ordinary software with a new label, and plenty of genuinely useful software is not AI at all and does not need to be. Here is what is on this site and which category each thing honestly falls into.
Things that genuinely use a model
- AI PDF summarizer — summarises a document you supply.
- Chat with PDF — ask questions about a document.
- AI PDF to notes and AI PDF translator.
- AI resume summary, resume improver, cover letter generator, job description generator.
These send the text you give them to a model and nothing else. They are the only pages on this site that transmit anything at all.
Things labelled AI that are really file forensics
- AI image checker — this does not guess whether a picture looks AI-generated. It reads the metadata that generation tools write into the file. When that metadata is there the answer is definite; when it has been stripped, the honest answer is "cannot tell", and that is what it says. Detectors that score a photograph's "AI-ness" from the pixels are unreliable, and we did not build one.
- Image metadata viewer — camera, lens, GPS, editing history.
- Remove image metadata.
Things that are not AI and are better for it
Most of the site. These run entirely inside your browser, which is why they have no limits, no account and no upload.
- Images — reduce to a file size, resize to exact pixels, convert formats, crop to a ratio.
- PDF — compress to a target, merge, split, rotate, reorder.
- File repair — recover a damaged Word, Excel, PowerPoint or ZIP file, without sending the damaged document to anyone.
- Exam and form photos — specifications for 45 Indian exam boards, with presets.
- Resumes — 22 country formats, because a CV that works in Dubai fails in Denver.
- Calculators, text and developer utilities — finance and health, text, JSON and encoding.
Why most of it is not AI
Compressing an image to exactly 20 KB is a search problem: encode, measure, adjust, repeat. A model would be slower, less accurate, more expensive and would require uploading your photograph. The same is true of resizing, cropping, merging PDFs and rebuilding a broken archive. Putting a model behind those would be worse software with better marketing.
Where a model genuinely helps — summarising, translating, drafting prose — we use one and say so. Where it does not, we do not.
