Crop PDF Pages

Trim the margins off every page of a PDF, given as a percentage so one setting works across mixed page sizes.

Operation: Crop PDF Pages
Lossless — text stays selectable
Choose a PDF or drag it here PDF · up to 100 MB

How to use this tool

  1. Choose your file, or drag it onto the box above.
  2. Enter which pages to act on, in the form 1-3, 5, 8-10.
  3. Click Process, then download. The page objects are copied rather than re-rendered, so text stays selectable and quality is untouched.

Cropping sets each page’s CropBox rather than redrawing the page, so the content underneath is untouched — text stays selectable, images keep their original encoding, and the file is not re-compressed. It is also reversible: the trimmed area is hidden, not deleted, and anyone who resets the box gets it back. If you need the margins genuinely gone rather than hidden, print to PDF after cropping.

Crop PDF Pages: what can go wrong

Most failures here are not about the document itself but about how it was produced. The ones that actually come up:

  • The PDF needs a password to open.
  • You need the trimmed content permanently removed rather than hidden.

How it works

This operation edits the PDF's internal structure directly with pdf-lib. Pages are copied, reordered or annotated as objects — nothing is re-rendered or re-encoded.

That makes it lossless: text stays selectable and searchable, images keep their original quality, and file size barely changes. It runs entirely in your browser.

Who needs Crop PDF Pages

Removing the wide white margins from a scanned book so it fills an e-reader screen, or trimming printer crop marks off a proof.

Crop PDF Pages — frequently asked questions

Does this reduce quality?

No. This operation edits the PDF structure directly rather than re-rendering pages, so text stays selectable, images keep their original quality, and nothing is re-compressed.

Can it handle password-protected PDFs?

No. Remove the password in your PDF reader first. We do not provide any means of bypassing PDF encryption.

Is there a file size limit?

100 MB per file, bounded in practice by your browser tab’s available memory. Very large documents may be slow on older devices.

What happens to bookmarks, links and form fields?

Page content is preserved exactly. Document-level features such as bookmarks, internal links and form fields may not survive a structural edit, so check the output if your file relies on them.

Is this tool really free?

Yes. No account, no trial period, no watermark on the output and no cap on how many times you use it. The site is funded by advertising.

Do I need to install anything?

No. There is nothing to download and no extension to add — it runs in the browser you are reading this in.

Your PDF never leaves this device. Contracts, statements and applications are processed entirely in the browser — open the Network tab while you use the page and you will see no upload (how that works).
