Why uploads get rejected
Meeting the size is only part of it. These are the failures that actually come up:
- The text contains Hindi, Bengali, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Hebrew, Greek or Cyrillic characters. The standard PDF fonts cannot encode them, so the tool stops rather than giving you blank boxes.
- The box is empty — type or paste something first.
- Extremely long input on a low-memory device. Split it into parts.
How it works
The text is laid out with pdf-lib, which writes genuine text objects into the PDF — each line is stored as characters plus a position, exactly as a word processor would write it. Lines are measured against the page width using the real font metrics and wrapped where they would overflow, and blank lines in your input are preserved as blank lines in the output.
The result has a live text layer: you can select it, search it, copy it, and a screen reader can read it aloud. This is the difference that matters. A common shortcut is to render the text to an image and wrap that image in a PDF — visually identical, and useless to anything that has to read the document.
The standard PDF fonts are WinAnsi-encoded and physically cannot represent Hindi, Bengali, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Hebrew, Greek or Cyrillic. Rather than silently dropping those characters and handing you a page of blank boxes, the tool detects them and stops with an explanation.

Frequently asked questions
Will the text be selectable in the PDF?
Yes. Real text is written into the file, so you can select it, search it and copy it out, and a screen reader can read it. Tools that render text to an image produce a file that looks identical and is unreadable to all of those.
Can I convert Hindi, Arabic or Chinese text?
No, and this tool tells you so instead of failing quietly. The standard PDF fonts are WinAnsi-encoded and have no glyphs for those scripts — the output would be blank boxes. For non-Latin scripts, write the document in a word processor with a suitable font and export to PDF from there.
A4 or Letter — which should I pick?
A4 (210 × 297 mm) everywhere except the United States and Canada, which use Letter (8.5 × 11 in). Choosing wrong means margins shift and content reflows when the file is printed, which matters for anything official.
Is there a length limit?
No fixed limit. Pages are added automatically as needed. Very long documents are bounded only by your browser tab's memory.
