Why uploads get rejected
Meeting the size is only part of it. These are the failures that actually come up:
- The PDF is password-protected. Remove the password in your reader first.
- The text landed in the wrong place — adjust the percentages. 10% / 90% is near the bottom-left, 50% / 50% is the centre.
- You need to change text already in the PDF. This adds new text; it cannot edit existing content.
How it works
This operation edits the PDF's internal structure directly with pdf-lib. Pages are copied, reordered or annotated as objects — nothing is re-rendered or re-encoded.
That makes it lossless: text stays selectable and searchable, images keep their original quality, and file size barely changes. It runs entirely in your browser.

Frequently asked questions
Can I edit the text already in my PDF?
No, and the reason is worth knowing: a PDF stores text as individual positioned glyphs, not as editable paragraphs. Changing existing words means reflowing everything around them, which is what full desktop editors do. This tool adds new text on top.
How do I position the text?
Percentages from the top-left. 10% across and 10% down is near the top-left corner; 50% / 50% is the centre. Try once, look at the result, and adjust.
Can I add a signature image?
Not directly. Convert your scanned signature to a PDF page with the image-to-PDF tool, then merge it in.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs inside your browser on your own device. Your file is never transmitted and never stored by us. You can confirm this by opening your browser’s Network tab while you use the tool — you will see no upload request.
Is there a limit on how many files I can process?
