Do you upload my files?
No. The tools run inside your browser using the same file and canvas APIs any web page has, so your image or PDF is never transmitted anywhere. You can check this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use any tool — you will see the page load and then nothing. Disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded and the tools still work.
Is there any exception to that?
Yes, and it is worth being clear about. The 12 AI writing and document tools need a language model, which cannot run in a browser at usable speed, so those pages send your text to a server and get text back. Even there the file itself stays on your device: a PDF’s text is extracted locally and only the extracted text travels. Those pages say so on the page, and they are the only ones with a daily limit.
